Mark has been trading options for over 6 years and attributes his success as a trader to having done every Optionetics course available. A graduate of the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science, Mark is masterful in applying his computer skills to his trading. His career history includes 15 years in software development and sales before changing careers to take up a senior commercial role in Western Australia''s domestic gas industry for Australia''s largest oil and gas company Woodside Energy. During this time Mark also worked teaching seminars for a personal training and development company, which contributes to his role as an instructor for Optionetics. He is now a full-time trader and a passionate instructor for the ICTs, ITTs and 2-day Optionetics seminars, committed to empowering others to financial freedom
Can you firstly tell us how you became interested in trading?
In much the same way as many of our students, I originally I became interested in trading as a means of creating a second income. I joined Optionetics in 2003 as a student and was really excited by the prospect of achieving financial independence. At the time I was an instructor for a personal training and development company and was blown away by the standard of education and software that Optionetics was providing to its student base.
When did you first take the leap from ‘part time’ to ‘professional’ trader?
I have been trading options for about 6 years now and I gave up working to trade full time about 3.5 years ago.
How would you describe your own trading style?
I’m a very conservative trader. I always make sure that the trades I place are high-probability, low-risk trades and I look at medium to long term time frames.
How would you describe the Platinum Online Training? What can the students expect?
The Platinum Online Training is made up of three dynamic 60-minute video training modules, which focus on 1) Finding opportunities; 2) Creating low-risk trades; 3) Managing the trade.
With the ability to watch these recorded training sessions at your own leisure, you can increase your learning potential at your own pace, without having to feel pressured by time constraints.
Is it suitable for all traders?
As an advanced instructor, I often see people who lack confidence in their trading…they really just need a helping hand to get them started on the right track. The Platinum Online Training is specially designed for novice traders and who need to be shown the basics in a logical, step-by-step process, in order to learn how to search for opportunities and create trades using the Platinum Options Analysis Software. Our objective is to empower novice traders and give them the confidence and skill set to trade successfully on the US market.
This is not a training program for advanced students or those who are interested in trading on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
How can the students’ best prepare for this seminar?
The students can best prepare for this by familiarizing themselves with the Platinum interface prior to watching the recorded video training. Making sure that they have set aside ample time to go through the training modules at their own pace, without interruptions will also be helpful. Students should remember to keep a notebook handy so that they can take notes if needed.
