As I type this article, I am actually sitting in the Business Class seat on the way back to Hong Kong together with Sam, my son (and we will stay in Hong Kong for a couple of days to see my parents before we return to Singapore). You know what? I have lots of fond memories and really enjoyed myself in OASIS 2008 at Santa Clara Convention Center. I am glad to hear the many positive feedbacks and constructive criticisms concerning both my Big-Mouth-Iron-Condor [BMIC] Strategy and my performance in my breakout sessions. I was proud of myself when I was standing on the main stage in the OASIS closing ceremony. Imagine that in the three previous OASISes… I was one of those who were standing on the floor to thank the instructors. This time I was greeted by the participants by being part of the instructor team and, of course, being the first instructor standing on the main stage representing both Hong Kong and Singapore, this means a lot to me because I have achieved a number of “firsts” in my life by being the first overseas student graduated from Murdoch Law School in Australia, the first recipient of Murdoch University Overseas Students’ Scholarship, the top student in my first year undergraduate studies also and in my MBA Business Law studies. I feel good when I have achieved “first or No.1” in something indeed.
As a debut speaker in such a big event such as OASIS, and having three runs in the same topic, I was delighted to see full house in all of my breakout sessions. I did a rough count of the capacity of Great America J and Ballroom A, and approximately 600 students in aggregate had turned up for my breakout sessions. Indeed, I truly appreciated all of you who came to Santa Clara to see me and told me that you had found a consistent monthly income generating strategy. Special thanks to Constantin and Ralph who shared with me how well they have been doing after implementing their own iron condor strategy. To Ralph, I hope you will continue sharing with me what you will do after quitting your full-time job and I hope to see you next year in Santa Clara in good shape again.
I received a few interesting comments about my SILK and POTS case studies. For avoidance of doubts, I have incorporated these case studies because some of you know that I have started studying neuro-linguistic programming [NLP]. In fact, my exposure to NLP has come timely because SILK and POTS case studies were examples used in my NLP training.
Throughout my NLP training, I reconditioned my brain to believe things that I used not to believe. For example, to those who attended my breakout sessions, you will recall my explanation why one could say “cows drink milk.” In fact, some of you may not be aware that when I rehearsed this example with Sam, I wondered if Sam would fall into the trap, but guess what? Sam got the answer right in the first time. This proves one point: when the mind of a 7-year boy such as Sam is as clear as purified water, distortion filter is not an issue at all. After all, there is still a lot for Sam to experience in this world.
So, when Sam becomes a teenager and later on an adult, I will not be surprised to find that he will suffer from the problem with distortion filter if he is not inculcated with the proper NLP concepts. Indeed I have put this in my plan to make sure that Sam, Isabelle and Zoe will undergo some forms of NLP trainings when they are teens because in my opinion, this will serve as the basic skill to survive in this ever complicated world.
Now, I have mentioned the phrase ‘distortion filter’ a few times. Why is this important to you as a trader? Some of you may still be struggling with trading or achieving consistent trading results. Some of you took action by purchasing our new product called “Cornerstone” at OASIS. Congratulations to those of you who took action. How about you? Did you take any action? If not, what are you going to do?
If you still don’t know what to do, probably your mind is still controlled my “limited belief” and your brain continues to build in distortion filter inside your brain to prevent you from taking further action. Put simply, if you believe that it is not possible to make a 10% return on investment [ROI] month after month in trading, you will never be able to do so. If you recall what I said in one of my articles a few weeks ago about Singaporeans being skeptical in signing up for trading education, it has indeed something to do with distortion filter and limited belief. Paying $4,000 to attend a trading seminar is useless because you will lose money. Why? I have heard X lost $10,000 after the seminar. I have also heard Y lost $20,000 after the seminar. So, if you do what they do, you will lose money for sure. If you condition your brain to believe that it is always a losing proposition to get education in trading, you will never achieve financial freedom in your life and remain a diamond member of the 95% Club.
Interestingly, for some reasons there are always people who like to act as ‘referee,’ i.e., they may not have experienced a particular event themselves. Yet they feel that they have to do justice by warning others not to experience such an event. Why? They will probably tell you that someone has lost money after attending this course or they think the trainers make money by selling their course because the trainers cannot trade successfully for themselves (or else why will they start selling courses?) These referees may even demand trainers to have their trading accounts to be audited to certify that they are profitable traders. Isn’t this a big joke?
These referees probably fall into the victims of having limited belief. They believe that it is useless to attend the seminar. So, they are trying to make you believe the same. If your distortion filter functions properly, you will likely believe that ‘yeah! It sounds true and it is useless’. Now, if you wish to listen to me, my suggestion is to ignore these people because they will be a bad influence on you for the rest of your life. Again, I dared to make such a brave statement because I have already shown you in my breakout sessions that if you believe cows drink milk, cows will forever drink milk. So, you must therefore first recondition your brain to accept that it is possible to make things happen. I have shown you my monthly ROI after using Beta 2 BMIC System. Am I showing you “faked” results? No, these are my real trades but again, whether they are real trades or not, it does not really matter to you because they have no impacts on you as a trader. You are the captain and have complete control of the plane. No passengers in the plane can tell you what you should do because you are responsible for your action as the captain. If you don’t believe you are able to do something, you won''t be able to do it. Therefore, if you are mixing with a group of people who believe that cows drink water, you will believe that cows do drink water and not milk. If you can take this step, you will overcome the problem associated with distortion filter. Again, you should mix with traders and not the referees and ignore what kind of ‘justice’ they intend to impose. They are just noises, if you permit me to say so.
So, once again, I respectfully submit to you that cows do drink water, and not milk… or do they?
