The search runs to completion or it times out if it exceeds your max search time (Settings | general settings -- under finding trades). Some stocks / indicies have a massive number of strikes which can take a fair amount of timeYou can extend this time, or, sometimes a better solution, is to create a list where you filter out stocks that don't meet your criteria which will a) reduce the number of stocks being searched, and b) possibly remove some of the stocks / indicies with massive numbers of strikes that can cause the search to take a long time.

I am having a problem when I search, for example, for a Bull Put Credit spread from the Smart Search page. I'm searching appx 900 stocks but when the search finishes, it tells me there are 878 stocks that have not been searched. I click on "continue search" then, after that search, I have a different list of results and the message that there are 861 stocks that have not been searched. Why is it not searching all the stocks, and if I need to "continue searching" why is it only doing a few more each time?
